Julius Abure Reveals How Campaign Funds Were Controlled by Peter Obi, Aisha Yesufu, and Pastor Ituah

Former Labour Party Chairman, Julius Abure, opens up on the handling of the 2023 election campaign funds and leadership dynamics.

In a recent revelation, Julius Abure, the former national chairman of the Labour Party, discussed the campaign fund control by Peter Obi, Aisha Yesufu, and Pastor Ituah during the 2023 general elections. He expressed his dissatisfaction with accusations of mismanagement, emphasizing that the party was not involved in the distribution of the campaign donations.

According to Abure, the campaign fund control by Peter Obi, Aisha Yesufu, and Pastor Ituah was handled separately from the Labour Party’s internal operations. The funds were deposited into specific accounts under the control of these individuals, and the party maintained distance from the financial dealings. Abure pointed out that those responsible for handling these funds also managed the payments to polling unit agents without direct involvement from the party.

The former chairman further clarified that the Labour Party’s main focus was on securing the presidency and, for that reason, gave Peter Obi, Aisha Yesufu, and Pastor Ituah free rein in managing campaign finances. Abure insisted that the accusations against him and the party were unfounded, describing them as mischievous.
