Wike Accuses PDP Governors of Sending Ministerial Nominees to Tinubu

Nyesom Wike claims that PDP governors submitted ministerial nominations to President Tinubu, despite criticizing his ties to the APC government.

Former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has made bold claims, accusing some governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of secretly submitting ministerial nominations to President Bola Tinubu. Wike’s remarks come as he faces criticism from within his party for his perceived closeness to the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.
Wike’s statements were made during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he addressed the accusations from PDP members who claim that he is acting as a mole within the party while working with the APC administration. According to Wike, despite the public backlash against his involvement in the current government, many PDP governors sought to have their own nominees included in Tinubu’s ministerial appointments.

“Who in the PDP didn’t try to nominate names for President Tinubu’s appointments? Yes, they did. Let them come forward and say they did not do it,” Wike said.

Wike has been at the center of controversy in recent months, particularly as tensions rise within the PDP. His decision to work with the APC government has not sat well with some members of his party, who have accused him of undermining the PDP from within. This criticism has escalated since Wike’s appointment as FCT Minister by President Tinubu, with some party leaders questioning his loyalty.

In a defiant tone, Wike responded to these accusations by challenging any PDP governor to deny that they also sought favor from Tinubu by proposing ministerial candidates. He further warned that he would not tolerate any interference from his PDP colleagues, particularly in matters concerning his strained relationship with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.

Conclusion:
Wike’s revelations have added a new layer of complexity to the ongoing political dynamics within the PDP, as the party grapples with internal divisions. While his accusations have yet to be addressed publicly by the governors involved, the former Rivers Governor’s bold stance is sure to keep the political landscape heated in the coming days.
