Wike Challenges PDP Leaders: Call Me an APC Mole if You Dare

FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, throws down the gauntlet to PDP governors and leaders, daring them to label him a mole publicly

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has boldly dared any leader or governor from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to publicly accuse him of being a mole for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Wike threw down the challenge during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, stating that he has nothing to hide.
During the interview, Wike revealed that he had formally notified the PDP at all levels—state, zonal, and national—before accepting the ministerial role. He expressed frustration over accusations from within the party, challenging anyone to name those calling him a mole. “Who in PDP is saying I’m a mole? Let them name names,” he said.

He went on to reaffirm his stance on the 2023 Presidential election, emphasizing that his refusal to support the PDP’s candidate was a matter of fairness and equity, not betrayal. “In 2023, did I not openly say I wouldn’t support the PDP candidate? I did it because it was against fairness, and I wasn’t secretive about it,” he stated.

The FCT Minister further stressed that under his leadership, the PDP in Rivers State secured overwhelming victories in the 2023 elections, unlike other states where the party struggled. Wike praised his leadership, stating, “I challenge any of them in PDP who won 100 percent in their states as we did. How did we achieve it? Leadership!”

He also disclosed that Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State had approached him for support in choosing Dr. Asue Ighodalo as his preferred successor. However, Wike declined, reminding Obaseki of past grievances, saying his prior support had brought him nothing but insults.

Conclusion:
Wike, known for his blunt approach, remains firm in his convictions, daring anyone in the PDP to challenge him on national television. He also addressed concerns about his familial connections, defending his cousin, the Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, against allegations of bias. As internal party disputes continue, Wike’s bold statements have intensified discussions around leadership and loyalty within the PDP.
