The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has directed its supporters and members in Edo State to vigilantly monitor the entire electoral process, from the announcement of results at Polling Units through to Ward, Local Government, and State Collation Centers. This proactive measure is aimed at preventing any potential manipulation or interference from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement signed by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary, The PDP also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that all results declared at Polling Units are immediately uploaded to its central server and correctly presented at each Collation Center. The party stressed that this must be done in full accordance with the Electoral Act of 2022 and INEC’s specific guidelines for the Edo State governorship election.
In a separate statement, the PDP urged the APC to uphold the choice of Edo voters as reflected in the Polling Units, emphasizing that the outcome should be respected by all parties involved.
The party also expressed appreciation for the resilience and commitment of Edo voters in safeguarding the integrity of their votes, despite what it described as attempts by the APC to undermine the process. PDP further encouraged the electorate to stay vigilant and prepared to defend their votes as the final results are announced, confident that the outcome will reflect their success in the election.
