APGA Chairman Njoku Warns Soludo and Others of Possible Suspension

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Edozie Njoku, has issued a stern warning to Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, threatening possible suspension due to ongoing alleged anti-party activities.

Speaking to journalists at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Njoku disclosed that a majority of the APGA leadership, around 80%, is in agreement on suspending Soludo and other party members. The decision, he said, aims to restore discipline and maintain order within the party.

Njoku referenced recent remarks from the APGA Board of Trustees Chairman, urging the National Working Committee (NWC) to take decisive action. “One of those people to be suspended is the governor. But if the only governor we have is leading these actions that compromise party unity, we have no choice but to address it,” Njoku explained.

He further expressed concern over Soludo’s behavior, stating that the governor’s actions could no longer be ignored, adding, “I don’t know what his intentions are, but he needs to align himself with the party’s values.”

During the briefing, Njoku also highlighted legal battles within the party, including a failed attempt by some factions to secure an injunction against his leadership. The court, presided over by Justice James Omotosho, refused to grant the application without notifying the party’s leadership.

Njoku accused Soludo of consistently working against efforts by the Supreme Court and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to bring stability to the party. “Soludo has undermined every move to restore peace. This has caused serious disruptions within APGA,” Njoku said.

Reflecting on a recent legal case, he stated, “They’ve taken the case to multiple courts to challenge my position, but the judiciary has upheld my leadership. Soludo must understand that the APGA is governed by laws, not personal whims.”

In conclusion, Njoku emphasized the need for internal order within APGA and expressed disappointment at the resources wasted on legal disputes. He urged Soludo to focus on his responsibilities to the people of Anambra rather than engaging in internal party conflicts.

The APGA chairman also reassured party members that the upcoming governorship primaries in Anambra would be open to all interested candidates, calling for unity and adherence to the party’s principles.
