FearlessInOctober Protests: Nigerian Patriotic Movement Issues 12 Demands to Tinubu Government

Nationwide protests set for October 1st as the Nigerian Patriotic Front Movement urges Nigerians to take a stand against poor governance

In a bold move for national survival, the Nigerian Patriotic Front Movement (NPFM) has declared October 1st a day of nationwide protests, calling on Nigerians to demand urgent reforms from President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The protests, tagged #FearlessInOctober, are aimed at addressing the widespread challenges that have plagued the country under the current leadership.

In a statement released by the NPFM Secretariat and signed by Comrade Abdulmajid Yakubu Daudu, the group highlighted 12 critical demands that the government must address to prevent further unrest. The statement warned that when peaceful change becomes impossible, the only alternative left is “People’s Power.”

Among the 12 demands, the group is calling for immediate action on pressing issues such as food inflation, the overpricing of petrol, and the high cost of governance. Additional concerns include the escalating cost of electricity, high interest rates, insecurity, non-payment of pension obligations, and the financial burden on students due to debt slavery for higher education. The movement also decried the starvation wages for workers, grand corruption, and the criminalization of protests.

The NPFM further emphasized the need for the re-nationalization of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and the country’s electricity distribution companies (DISCOs), citing mismanagement and inefficiencies in these sectors as key contributors to the nation’s economic challenges.

The #FearlessInOctober protests are expected to draw large crowds across Nigeria as citizens unite under the banner of national survival and demand substantial reforms from the Tinubu government.
