Four Bloggers Remanded for Cyberstalking and Spreading False Information About GTCO CEO


In September 2024, four bloggers were remanded in Lagos for cyberstalking and false publication against GTCO CEO, Segun Agbaje. The court arraigned the bloggers on charges involving the dissemination of false claims, accusing them of intentionally spreading misleading information about Agbaje’s involvement in alleged financial misconduct.

The defendants were charged with cyberstalking and false publication against GTCO CEO, violating the Cybercrimes Act. They allegedly used social media to spread false reports, creating undue anxiety and reputational damage to Mr. Agbaje. The accusations of cyberstalking and false publication against GTCO CEO were serious enough for the court to deny bail, pending further hearings.

With the case adjourned to October 4, 2024, these allegations of cyberstalking and false publication against GTCO CEO highlight growing concerns around online misinformation and its legal consequences.
