Nyesom Wike criticizes Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for disregarding a court judgment, warning that such actions threaten law and order

Former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has blamed Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for inviting chaos and anarchy by disregarding a Rivers court judgment crisis. Wike, in a recent interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, expressed deep concern over Fubara’s public admission that he would not comply with a court ruling.

Wike stressed that ignoring a legal ruling is a dangerous precedent that undermines the state’s stability. “I was a governor, and I always respected the rule of law. Any refusal to follow a court’s decision is a direct invitation to anarchy and disorder,” he noted. The Rivers court judgment crisis has caused widespread concern, with Wike warning that it could escalate into a breakdown of law and order.

He went on to emphasize that respecting the judiciary is essential for maintaining peace and order. “Once a leader chooses to defy a court judgment, they open the door to violence and unrest,” Wike stated, further addressing the Rivers court judgment crisis by calling for immediate adherence to legal directives.

Additionally, Wike highlighted the crucial role of police presence during elections, pointing out that no governor should believe that a fair election could be conducted without adequate law enforcement. This critique came amid a growing Rivers court judgment crisis, with concerns mounting over the erosion of legal structures in the state.
