Ndume Urges Tinubu to Address Harmful Economic Policies as Hardship Worsens

Senator Ali Ndume warns President Tinubu against advisers promoting detrimental policies that are escalating hardships for Nigerians

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has expressed concern over the rising cost of living in Nigeria, attributing the hardship to harmful economic policies advised by certain individuals within President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The senator believes that these damaging policies are exacerbating inflation and pushing essential goods further out of reach for the average Nigerian.

In a statement issued from Abuja, Ndume emphasized that the economic strain caused by these harmful economic policies is placing an unbearable burden on Nigerians. He pointed to the escalating prices of food, fuel, and transportation as direct results of these policies, which he said are being pushed by bad actors aiming to undermine President Tinubu’s administration.

“These individuals are diverting focus away from critical issues such as inflation control and the stabilization of the naira, making the president appear ineffective,” Ndume remarked. He warned that the longer these harmful economic policies persist, the more Nigerians will suffer, and urged the president to take swift action before public discontent grows beyond control.

Ndume, highlighting the dire situation in his constituency of Borno, shared that many families can no longer afford basic necessities, with farmers struggling to transport goods due to skyrocketing transportation costs. “The hardship is unimaginable,” he said. “People can’t even afford to travel anymore because transportation is a luxury few can manage.”

Despite his criticisms, Ndume believes that Tinubu has good intentions for the nation but is being misled by a few advisers promoting these harmful economic policies. He implored the president to distance himself from such individuals, stating that their actions were testing the patience of the Nigerian people.

As hyperinflation continues to surge, Ndume stressed the urgency of the situation, calling on Tinubu to prioritize the needs of the people and restore economic stability. “The purchasing power of Nigerians is already severely weakened, and with each day, the suffering worsens,” he said, urging immediate intervention to mitigate the impact of these harmful economic policies.
