Governors Affirm Party Unity After Virtual Meeting, Lift All Suspensions on Officials

Governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have reinstated all members of the National Working Committee (NWC) who were previously suspended. This decision marks the resolution of internal conflicts within the party, as stated in a communiqué released at the conclusion of a two-day virtual meeting of the PDP Governors’ Forum.

Chairman of the Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, emphasized that the party’s leadership carefully addressed pending legal disputes during the meeting. The governors agreed that all internal suspensions had been lifted, and no factions exist within the party. Further consultations were held with the Board of Trustees (BoT) and other party organs to solidify unity moving forward.

Governor Mohammed highlighted the importance of maintaining harmony, urging officials to focus on strengthening the party in line with its founding vision. Other governors who participated in the virtual meeting include Sir Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Senator Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Mr. Godwin Obaseki (Edo), and Oluseyi Makinde (Oyo), among others.
