On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, President Bola Tinubu approved the redeployment of 10 ministers, as confirmed by an official statement from the presidency on his X handle (formerly Twitter).
Among the ministers reassigned is Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, who now serves as the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, reflecting the administration’s emphasis on tackling poverty. Dr. Tunji Alausa takes over as the Minister of Education, a critical role in shaping the nation’s future through education reforms.
Other notable changes include Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who was reassigned as the Minister of State for Works, and Hon. Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh, now serving as the Minister of Regional Development. This reshuffle demonstrates Tinubu’s strategic approach to placing experienced leaders in positions where they can make the most impact.
Meanwhile, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite has been appointed as the Minister of State for Finance, a pivotal role in managing the country’s economic policies. Senator John Owan Enoh has been moved to the Ministry of Trade and Investment Industry as the Minister of State, a key position as Nigeria seeks to expand its global trade footprint.
Other redeployed ministers include Uba Maigari Ahmadu as the Minister of State for Regional Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim as the Minister of Women Affairs, Ayodele Olawande as the Minister for Youth Development, and Dr. Salako Adeboye as the Minister of State for Health.
