House of Representatives member Alex Ikwechegh faces backlash after a viral video shows a heated exchange with a driver over a delivery
Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives representing Aba North & South Federal Constituency (APGA), has faced public criticism following a viral video that captures a heated exchange with a Bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya. The driver had reportedly arrived at Ikwechegh’s Maitama residence in Abuja to deliver a package when tensions escalated.
In the footage, Ikwechegh can be seen expressing frustration over what he felt was an improper request for him to collect the delivery personally. Ikwechegh warned the driver of his authority, emphasizing his position and influence.
“Do you know who I am?” Ikwechegh asked. He refused to cover the delivery fee, stating that he preferred to handle the situation himself.
When Abuwatseya requested payment for the delivery, Ikwechegh responded by challenging him to report the incident if he wished, displaying confidence in his position.
The video has sparked significant public debate, leading to criticism of Ikwechegh’s actions and raising questions regarding the conduct expected of public officials.
