Lord’s Chosen Reacts to Viral Testimonies: ‘It Was in a Dream, Don’t Believe Bloggers

The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has refuted widespread mockery surrounding viral videos of its members’ testimonies, clarifying that certain stories, which many have found unbelievable, occurred in dreams. The church emphasized that it does not fabricate testimonies and urged Nigerians to avoid taking internet content at face value.

This reaction comes in the wake of multiple viral testimonies from church members, including one where a woman claimed to have fought off armed robbers and another where a member allegedly rode on a lion. These accounts sparked heated debates online, with many netizens expressing skepticism.

Clarifying the Testimonies

In one widely circulated testimony, a member narrated an experience where something mysteriously lifted him up and transported him to a narrow road. Upon looking back, he claimed the creature that carried him was a lion. The lion then supposedly directed him on where to go before bidding him farewell.

In another viral video, an elderly woman testified that she was attacked by armed robbers but miraculously overpowered them, seizing their AK-47 rifles and ensuring the capture of three robbers. Additionally, another man claimed to have survived a kidnapping attempt, machete attacks, and gunshot wounds, emerging unscathed.

Church’s Response: ‘It Was in a Dream’

Responding to the videos and the reactions they triggered, Pastor Chidi Louis, Head of Public Relations and Media for the Lord’s Chosen Church, stated that these testimonies were taken out of context and doctored by bloggers with the intent to discredit the church’s work. He clarified that the testimonies being circulated were dreams, not real-life events.

“Nigerians should visit the church’s platform to watch the complete testimonies for proper understanding,” Louis urged. “The woman who claimed to have fought armed robbers was narrating a dream, not a real-life event. Unfortunately, certain bloggers edited the footage to make it seem as though these events happened in reality.”

Warning Against Misleading Content

The church warned its members and the general public not to believe everything they see on social media. Louis criticized bloggers, describing them as “wicked and devilish,” accusing them of maliciously editing the testimonies to ridicule the ministry’s work.

In a statement posted on its social media platforms, the Lord’s Chosen Church encouraged the public to disregard the viral videos and seek out the full versions of the testimonies. The church also released the complete footage of the woman’s testimony on its TikTok account to clear any confusion.

Addressing the Viral Testimonies

The viral testimonies, though astonishing, have become the subject of intense online scrutiny. Many social media users expressed disbelief at the testimonies, prompting the church to issue a public clarification.

“The woman’s story about overpowering robbers happened in her dream,” Louis reiterated. “What people are watching online is an edited version designed to mock her testimony. It’s unfortunate that some people take joy in discrediting the work of God.”

While the church continues to face criticism, it stands firm in its position that these testimonies reflect personal dreams rather than actual events, and it warns against taking internet content out of context.
