The Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, breaks her silence on the NYSC scandal, claiming she has completed the program more than once

In a recent interview, Minister Hannatu Musawa addressed the ongoing NYSC certificate controversy that has sparked debate across the nation. She revealed that she has participated in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program more than once, despite the questions surrounding her certification.

Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, has faced public scrutiny since her appointment in 2023. During her Senate screening, she was unable to present a valid NYSC certificate, which raised concerns among critics and led to legal challenges. Minister Hannatu Musawa remains firm in her stance, stating that she followed the law in all her actions.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Minister Hannatu Musawa insisted that she had completed her NYSC service, saying, “I have done at least two NYSCs in my life.” She emphasized that while there have been various reports about her situation, she has not yet publicly clarified the details of what transpired.

Despite the pressure to address the NYSC certificate controversy in detail, Musawa maintained that she had done nothing wrong. She expressed her intention to eventually share her side of the story, but for now, her focus remains on delivering results in her ministerial duties.

Musawa added, “The fact that I am here today shows I haven’t broken any laws. Everything I did was within the legal framework, and when the time is right, I will provide a full explanation.” Her comments come as the controversy continues to fuel public discourse.

The NYSC certificate controversy surrounding Minister Hannatu Musawa has drawn attention to the NYSC regulations, which mandate that Nigerian graduates complete the program only once.
