The EFCC refutes claims of disrupting a live radio program in Enugu, clarifying the arrest of a suspect linked to fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has strongly denied arresting a radio presenter during a live broadcast in Enugu. The EFCC denies arresting the radio presenter at Urban Radio 94.5FM and refutes claims of disrupting the station’s operations on Monday, stating that their actions were part of a legitimate investigation.
EFCC denies arresting the radio presenter while on air, asserting that they were at the station to invite the host of Prime Time, Favour Ekoh, for questioning over an alleged N700 million Ponzi scheme. According to the EFCC, Ekoh is under investigation for his involvement in a fraudulent investment scheme that affected 50 victims.
In response to the radio station’s claims, the EFCC denies arresting the presenter in an aggressive manner or tampering with any station equipment. They clarified that their officers were simply carrying out their duties lawfully but were obstructed by the station staff, leading to further arrests.
