New political movement ACC pledges to challenge current leadership and reshape Nigeria’s governance ahead of 2027
A new conservative political movement known as the Allied Conservative Congress (ACC) has made its official debut in Abuja, aiming to provide a formidable alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape. As the ACC political party vows to unseat Tinubu and other entrenched political interests, its leaders have committed to addressing the nation’s pressing issues with fresh ideas and a conservative vision.
At a recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the ACC’s National Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal, shared the party’s mission, emphasizing a conservative approach to restoring security, economic stability, and equity across the nation. “The ACC political party to unseat Tinubu and rescue Nigeria is a response to the widespread demand for true governance reform,” Lawal stated, underscoring the ACC’s commitment to addressing the challenges of poverty, insecurity, and political stagnation.
The ACC movement sees its rise as a necessary response to what it considers the failure of the current administration to uphold Nigeria’s core values. Members emphasized a return to the principles of Nigeria’s First Republic—patriotism, rule of law, and morality—essential components the ACC believes can reinvigorate Nigeria’s national identity.
As part of its launch, the ACC political party is actively working to gain formal recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in time for the 2027 elections. Lawal affirmed that the ACC has garnered support across political lines, demonstrating the wide-reaching appeal of its goals. “Nigerians are yearning for genuine democracy and good governance,” he noted, pointing to ACC’s pledge to prioritize national interest over personal gains or partisan conflicts.
Highlighting the ACC’s vision, Lawal cited a clear distinction between the ACC’s objectives and the stagnation associated with long-standing political parties such as the APC, PDP, and LP. “Nigerians have grown weary of the same old promises. The ACC brings fresh perspectives and a focus on national integrity,” he explained. He also criticized the current administration’s handling of economic and security issues, suggesting that the government has run out of ideas and is struggling to address citizens’ real needs.
The party also called attention to the urgent need for judicial reform, noting that frequent miscarriages of justice have diminished public trust in Nigeria’s judiciary. According to Lawal, the ACC will advocate for a more accountable and transparent judicial system to strengthen the rule of law and reinforce democracy.
During the NEC meeting, ACC leaders signed a Code of Conduct and Oath of Allegiance, symbolizing their dedication to the party’s mission and values.
