President Tinubu Appoints New Directors-General and Media Adviser to Drive National Development

Three Directors-General and a Special Adviser on Media Communications join Tinubu’s administration to bolster key sectors


President Tinubu’s new appointments signal a strategic push to strengthen Nigeria’s leadership across key agencies. In a recent move, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointments of three Nigerians as directors-general overseeing significant national agencies, as well as a special adviser on Public Communications and Media.

These key appointments reflect Tinubu’s commitment to enhancing public service efficiency and building expertise within critical sectors. The newly appointed individuals include:

  1. Mr. Olawale Olopade – Taking the helm as Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Mr. Olopade will guide Nigeria’s sports policy and development, focusing on enhancing the nation’s competitive edge in both local and international arenas.
  2. Dr. Abisoye Fagade – As Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Fagade will be responsible for advancing Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality sectors, positioning them as drivers of economic growth and cultural exchange.
  3. Dr. Adebowale Adedokun – Appointed as Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement, Dr. Adedokun is set to lead efforts to enhance transparency and efficiency in government procurement, a key area for ensuring accountability and value for public spending.

Additionally, Daniel Bwala has been appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications at the State House. Bwala’s role will involve crafting strategic communications, reinforcing the administration’s messaging, and managing public relations to ensure clarity in governmental actions.

President Tinubu’s new appointments underscore his vision for a proactive and competent public sector.
